During the 2012 Presidential election the issue of unemployment has been a crucial component for both candidates and their campaigns. President Obama has a detailed plan titled “The American Jobs Act”. In this plan, the president proposes cutting payroll taxes and tax credit for employers who hire unemployed workers, among other initiatives aimed to stimulate job creation. Mitt Romney, on his front, has developed a plan called ”Believe In America”. In this plan, candidate Mitt Romney focuses on improving the job market, the plan intends to move away from union leader controlled labor by supporting the “Right to Work” incentives, which is currently an active initiative in some states. In addition to these plans, both candidates have also made news headlines on their efforts, aiming to shape up the unemployment rate that the nation is currently facing(8.1%), according to the department of labor. Our blog will follow how these plans and new developments on the unemployment front affect the candidates and how they'll approach this issue.
